Abel Tasman NP - Walking
Day 34 (19.2.2013): Abel Tasman National ParkIf you don't like adventurous or windy or steep roads - or all together - then don't come here. Otherwise, give it a try - it's beautiful up here. Today we had some of the most adventurous roads of all - lots of orange construction fence coz parts of the roads have been falling off (looked a bit like a shark bite). Right next to it the sheer cliffs & it falls down big times.
Today I joined Lin on the Abel Tasman Track up to her first water crossing. We were running a bit late but made it perfectly in time to have a good picnic lunch and her having a safe crossing which is possible 2hrs either side of low tide.
This was a beautiful path through lush rainforest and along golden beaches. a hard 3.5hrs a lot of steep uphill and downhill ... but definitely worthwhile doing.

Lin will continue on the Abel Tasman Track, then kayak one day and hike the final day again.
I will kayak the Abel Tasman in its whole from tomorrow for 3 days.
