Day 26 (11.2.2013): Wanaka

It was said to have liquid sunshine for the whole day until 8pm. So, I decided to do some internet at my fav place, the Patagonia Icecream Parlour and then have a look at Puzzling World and maybe the toy museum. 

But – miracles just happen – after having spent a significant amount of time eMailing and blogging the sun came out in the afternoon and it was a wonderful rest of the day which I decided not to waste and went on the Diamond Lake track, just about 20mins drive from Wanaka. It actually offers some beautiful views across Diamond Lake and Lake Wanaka and – if you make your way all the way up to the top Rocky Mountain – some stunning 360° vistas around the surrounding mountains, Mt. Aspire and Lake Wanaka – wohoo! 3hrs of medium to hard ranked hiking.

Unfortunately, I twisted my ancle on the very beginning of the descend so I will have to take it easier the next days …
