Day 4 (20.1.2013): Christchurch
Christchurch is recovering after the strong earthquakes roughly 2 years ago. most of the inner city is still off limits for the public, the destruction very obvious and unbelievable. Nevertheless, the kiwis don't let that take them down. The developed creative ways to temporary overcome that situation e.g. a very funky container mall and also have a good central recovery plan to be implemented over the next couple of years.
Also, have been the New Brighton, one of Christchurch's beaches.
Actually, it's colder here than expected ... but that might change any day.

Day 5 (21.1.2013): Christchurch
the "World Busker Festival" is happening at Christchurch's North Hagley Park and I visited some performances which were pretty good. I also combined that with a visit to the botanical garden which as an awesome rose garden. Also, I visited Sumner, another of the beaches.
