Back in Melb and @ Uni

Hi *,

Time is passing really quickly … have the feeling I just came back from Tassie and 2 weeks are already gone ...

The last week in January we had “Careers Week” at uni where different companies present and students are able to meet with company representatives for informal chats to find out more. As most of you know, I want to go for an internship from May to August and therefore I’m looking at interesting employer. Up to now, my application process didn’t go very far – I just filed one application for ANZ bank and received an answer last Friday – I’m invited for an interview next Tuesday!

Last week was the first week of uni. I will take the 3 remaining core subjects Managing Processes, Business Strategy, and EPP (Economics and Public Policy, some kind of macro economics course). In addition I’ll have 2 elective subjects which will be Corporate Finance and Brand Management (the latter will be intensive second half of the term, therefore I start with only 4 subjects). Try to take it a bit easier this term – should be able to prioritize my studies to get the most out of it in the shortest possible time, say “work smarter, not harder”. Let’s see how that goes …

Yesterday, Robinette invited me for lunch. I took my bike with me on the train and made my way back from Wheelers Hill to North Melbourne on the Scottsman Creek Trail. At the start in Glen Waverly it is a really nice, off-road (but still paved) track along the creek. More towards the city center of Melbourne it gets more and more along streets and also more crowded. Nevertheless, I had a good 35km ride (altogether I rode my bike yesterday for 42km) … will take a break today …

Talk to you soon again.
B.
